This has been usefull to me to show my clients a mockup of how the final case would look. I've been designing many DVD covers / Booklets and this was a really handy template I made, since it looks pretty real and stylish.
This is the DVD case I've been using as a preview for the DeviantGirls series. Many people asked me about it, and I thought it would be better to release it to the public. You only need Photoshop CS/CS2/CS3 to open it and tweak the layers. You can fully customize both artworks and stuff. If you want to change the box color, look on the "dvd case" group and tweak them with Hue/Saturation.
I hope you like it!

Important: This template is FREE for use. Whatever you do, congrats, it will look great lol . BUT... if you show your artwork on deviantart, I would appreciate a link back to my gallery.
Manicho's DVD Case + Art PSD is the kind of resource I hope to find on dA, but don't always.
It's size is on the smaller range for printability. However, it is completely customizable as he promises, and perfect for showcasing your work online. You can see from the teaser that his lighting and shadows are terrific. What you can't see is that and he's organized the PSD layers very logically for easy use.
All of the gradient overlays are on separate layers, too, which is a huge help. Many artists don't even include them. This artist has. Having the gradients speeds up customization tremendously. And of course, you have the option to create a new gradient or alter the one provided.
All the little text and image details he included are marvelous. I appreciate the choice of a generic black case. I also like that he provided tips for changing the color in his description. The only negative that I can find is that he didn't remember to clear the case perforations (where the clips hold the CD & publication). Background changes would be a single click of the button if not for this omission. However, this is a very easy fix requiring only a few moments to remedy.
I can't imagine the amount of time that went into making this great resource. I'm very glad Manicho decided to share it with us!
